I am honoured to have had the opportunity to contribute to this anthology which has become an international best seller.

In MENtal Health: Take it “Like a Man”, fifteen authors (mostly men)from diverse backgrounds share their raw, unfiltered journeys through depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction, and personal transformation. These aren’t just survival stories—they’re blueprints for male mental health recovery and proof that seeking help is the ultimate act of courage.

I felt compelled to contribute to this project in support of the men in my life. I have dealt with my own mental health challenges and have come to realize how different the navigation of these challenges are for men and women, simply due to unrealistic societal expectations.

My chapter sheds light on how the change we desire in our perspectives related to mental health in men, needs to begin in childhood.

I also believe that women have an important role to play in this shift. As mothers, sisters, daughters, spouses / life partners and friends we can be that safe place for the men in our lives to authentically experience this natural part of being a human.
